I’ve never really known how to answer the question “what’s your best photo?” I think a lot of us photographers struggle with that. Often it’s the moment in front of the camera that creates a memorable image for me. The person I met, the animal I saw, the wind freezing my face off…..It’s such a subjective thing. “Best” might not be the right question. Maybe we frame it as “what’s your favorite moment you’ve photographed” or “what photo was the most impactful “ I used to always say the best photo is the next one I’m going to take, and that’s not necessarily true either. Some photographers truly have a “best” photo or a photo that they are known for. I don’t, not yet at least. What I will say is that each trip I take I come back with at least 1 image that will always put a smile on my face, and that’s what I will crown my “Best”. How do you answer this question when someone asks? Do you have a “Best” photo?
