Planning out shoots has made me a much better photographer. I used to show up with no PLAN. No IDEAS. Just the desire to photograph something. That was NEVER enough because I was relying on LUCK. Now our shoots are planned. Storyboard, moodboard, pre-production calls, and making sure everyone knows the goal. Flexible enough to pivot if needed, but still inline with the original ideas. Often ideas come to you while shooting and if you have the time you should explore them and experiment.
