The off-season is the only block where the schedule isn’t dictating your programming.
That’s also why it’s the easiest one to waste.
The athlete finally has time, so we get sloppy, massive volume jumps, every new method at once, training to failure on day one. Off-season doesn’t reward heroics. It rewards consistency that compounds into pre-season.
A few rules I work from:
→ Sequence the phases. Don’t stack them.
→ Six weekly non-negotiables, any split.
→ Volume climbs ≤10% week to week.
→ Save peaks for the back half.
→ Boring + finished beats brilliant + abandoned.
