I tried surfing for the first time in Rincón, Puerto Rico and I'm so glad I did 🏄 I discovered trip.outside while planning this vacation and it made finding and booking this experience so easy. I was able to browse vetted, local outfitters, filter by location and skill level all around the Island, and see availability right away. Beginner-friendly options, small group sizes, it really took a lot of the stress out of planning something I've never tried before. I booked a lesson with dukessurfschool and our instructor Nico and his dog's Cookie and Roxy brought us to this spot that was a total gem. After some instruction on reading the waves, timing, and practicing on the beach, we were ready to hit the water. And yes, I actually ended up standing up on a wave. More than once!
