Founded in 2005 by now-retired SHP physics teacher Dr. Guy Letteer, the SHP cardboard canoe races are a quirky tradition that takes place every spring at the Dunlevie Aquatics Center, where theoretical physics meets design concepts (and duct-taping skills), blending buoyancy, creativity, and a healthy dose of luck. For many, the race marks the near-close of classes, the launch of summer, and perfectly captures the spirit of SHP. Spy the RSCJ from Oakwood Retirement Community on our campus who attend each year to cheer on competitors! #shsatherton #shpcardboardcanoeraces #schoolspirit
