Rolling through south and west Texas — four counties in a day!
Wednesday’s journey took Rick Avery, director of AgriLife Extension, across McCulloch, Kimble, Sutton and Val Verde counties. While he didn’t get photos at every stop, he was honored to meet the dedicated Extension teams who serve their communities with heart and purpose.
In McCulloch County, he enjoyed visiting with County Extension Agents Sarita Short (Ag & Natural Resources), Carrie Ross (Family & Community Health), and Office Secretary Carolyn Merren. He had the opportunity to hear about the deep traditions in youth development and stock shows — cornerstones of community pride that continue to bring people together.
In Kimble County, he had the chance to connect with County Extension Agent McKenzie Striegler (Ag & Natural Resources) and county secretary Donna Schirmer. Their ongoing efforts in ag education and outreach are truly making a difference.
