Skyler Nix ‘27 is a sophomore in the Texas A&M Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Since childhood, Nix has had a love for nature and a desire to immerse himself in a culture where his love for the environment could grow. During his time as a student, he launched the Lights out, College Station! program as an intern for Texas Conservation Alliance and Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections. As part of the statewide Lights Out, Texas! campaign, this program aims to spread awareness and inspire action to reduce the adverse effects of light pollution on migrating birds.
