Bryan Bracewell '98, is a third-generation pitmaster and the owner of his family business, Southside Market & Barbeque. It was his passion for barbecue that ultimately led him to become a student in the Texas A&M University - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Bracewell came to Texas A&M University with the goal of improvement. He said the knowledge he gained in the classrooms, his experience as a member of the meat judging team and as a student worker for the Rosenthal Meat Science & Technology Center all translated into better products for his family’s business. Bracewell also attributes much of his success to his participation in Texas A&M Animal Science programs such as Barbecue Summer Camp and Camp Brisket.
