Laura Landis, a Texas A&M University sophomore, said she knew she wanted to pursue a career in engineering because of her love for science and math. Her time in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, combined with her love of agriculture, set her in pursuit of a career in either machinery or food systems engineering. Landis is one of four students selected nationwide for a $2,500 competitive scholarship from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). She said attending the ASABE International Meeting in Houston last year was an invaluable learning and networking experience in her chosen field.
