Tereza Magalhaes, Ph.D., brings new medical aspects to entomology research through her new position as an assistant professor in the Texas A&M Entomology department.
Magalhaes' studies focus on understanding the transmission dynamics of arborviruses to improve prevention. She will produce research in an independent lab and teach undergraduate and graduate students in courses related to global public health entomology.
Magalhaes hopes to strengthen even more of the department’s medical entomology research by bringing new research elements and building new collaborative networks both here and abroad.
