On this day in 1927, Charles Lindbergh landed the Ryan NYP "Spirit of St. Louis" at Le Bourget Field near Paris, completing the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight. He was greeted by a wildly enthusiastic crowd of 100,000 after traveling 33 hours, 30 minutes, and 3,610 miles nonstop.
