Keller Williams' yearly conference was this weekend and my favorite part is always Gary Keller's "Vision" speech. He talks about the current state of the housing market on a national level and where he believes it will go this year based on current trends. Here are some of my favorite slides.
The main point: we are not heading for a recession but a slow down in growth. Meaning sales are slowing down due to persistent low inventory, lack of new housing being built, and higher mortgage rates. However the economy is great right now and we are still projected to have a slow increase in prices. Number of distressed and underwater homes are at an extreme low right now.
Of course, local real estate markets can be quite different and experience differing numbers in terms of price/inventory but it's always nice to know the big picture at the national level.
