“My heritage and upbringing played a huge part in who I am today. I am so proud to be Vietnamese.” Huskie Women’s Soccer player Nammi Nguyen’s parents arrived in Canada in 1997. After obtaining his PhD in electrical engineering, Nammi’s father became a professor at University of Saskatchewan. Her mother attended the Edwards School of Business and became an accountant. In between all of this, they started a family and settled in Saskatoon, where Nammi grew up. Being Vietnamese is a huge source of pride for Nammi and as the first ever player to join the Vietnamese National Team from overseas, she hopes to be a role model for young Vietnamese athletes. Swipe through to hear directly from Nammi on how her vibrant culture, language and upbringing has made her who she is and head to the link in our bio to read more! 💚 #huskies #asianheritagemonth #saskatoon #yxe
