Celebrating Asian Heritage Month 💚 huskiewsoc player jenna.steacy is proud of her Chinese heritage and the values she carries from her culture, traditions and family. Her family’s story in Canada started in 1953, when her Gung Gung (grandpa) arrived from China. Her Popo (grandma) later joined him when they got married in 1965. They raised seven children, including Jenna’s mother. Jenna says it’s because of her family’s sacrifices, grit and determination that she has the opportunities she has today. “My culture has taught me the importance of family, resilience and hard work. It’s through these values that I’ve realized my family’s love is not just a spoken thing but felt through unconditional support and care. Growing up I’ve witnessed many of the sacrifices my family has made to give me a better life.
