Fluent in seven languages, he became known for his fearlessness in the field, including digging up live land mines with his bare hands. Sky served in Vietnam, earning the Combat Infantryman’s badge, the Vietnam Service medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, during his service. He died tragically from injuries sustained while riding as a passenger in a military vehicle.
