Brooklyn-born Thomas Kuveikis lived in Carmel, New York, and was engaged to his girlfriend, Jennifer. Twice a year, he and his daughter from a previous marriage explored the outdoors together, including Yellowstone National Park and the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
