With support from the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Fund, the Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) is reviving the art and science of traditional wayfinding. hokuleacrew navigators led by natgeo Explorers Nainoa Thompson and Lehua Kamalu retraced ancient routes used by the first Polynesians aboard the voyaging canoe Hōkūleʻa from Hawaii to Raʻiātea. They also traveled to the Cook Islands and New Zealand, facilitating cultural and educational exchanges at each location to elevate Indigenous voices and inspire the next generation of ocean leaders.
