Vanuatu and Pacific nations’ leadership has achieved a major victory for climate justice!⁣ ⁣ In July 2025, the International Court of Justice (ICJ or World Court) issued an advisory opinion saying that countries have legal obligations under international law to take all possible steps to stop causing harm and take urgent action to protect the climate system.
