From the day Eliezer Mayenda fired us on our way, there was something different about this team. There’s been belief, courage and a togetherness that has carried us through every challenge put in front of us. I’ll never forget those matches against Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, when this young side refused to back down and showed the heart of lions in front of the entire country. And then there were the derby wins. Beating Newcastle twice meant everything to supporters like me. Those moments are written into the soul of this city forever. What’s made me proudest, though, is the way the Lads responded when things got difficult. Leaders emerged, players stood tall and fought for each other, for the badge and for us in the stands.
