When Paul Dufrene V first came in, the athleticism was obvious. The problem was that the body moved as one big piece. His arm was long and dragging; he wasn't loading the lower half at all, and he was trying to force everything rather than let it work.â

Fortunately, the fix was straightforward. Once he understood how to rotate and sequence the throw, the same way you create separation on the hitting side, it started to click immediately. In his first session, just playing catch, 85 jumped to 88 by relaxing and learning to rotate.â
88 held for a few months, then he came back and touched 90, and eventually 93.â

The throw now is clean and his direction is really good. Command got significantly better once the lower half found a direction and the rotation started working through the target, and now he's going deep in outings every game.â
