I said yes because I wanted to represent where I come from and the generations before me. I grew up next door to my grandma, who migrated from Chihuahua during the Mexican Revolution, and so much of who I am in the kitchen comes from her. In our family, food was never just food. It was love, survival, tradition, sacrifice, storytelling, and pride.
