Little mistakes can have big consequences on the road.⁣ ⁣ Whether they’re walking, riding, scooting or driving for the first time, young people are some of our most vulnerable road users. Slow down around schools, crossings and busy local streets and expect the unexpected.⁣ ⁣ In Victoria, 52 pedestrians lost their lives on our roads in 2025, a timely reminder that the risk of death or serious injury rises rapidly when a vehicle is travelling above 30km/h.⁣ ⁣ A few simple things can help keep everyone safer: ⁣ 🚸Slowdown in busy areas and around crossings. ⁣ 🚸Double check before reversing or turning. ⁣ 🚸Put the phone away and stay alert. ⁣ 🚸Give young road users extra space and patience. ⁣ ⁣ The little people in our community are counting on the big people to make safe choices. 💛 ⁣ ⁣ #NRSW #NationalRoadSafetyWeek
