Soldiers from the forthoodmwr Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program took the field at attstadium Aug. 19 for the usaa Salute to Service nfl Boot Camp, a unique opportunity to train like dallascowboys players and compete for prizes. Held as part of USAA and the NFL’s broader Salute to Service partnership, the event pit Fort Hood Soldiers against active-duty service members from Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth.
“This is our opportunity to give back to the military and show our appreciation,” said retired U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Mark Cook, USAA military affairs representative. “Every time I do this, I am awed being out here on the turf where players play on Sundays.”
