Mayor Mamdani, alongside Governor Kathy Hochul and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish, announced a plan on Wednesday to curb violence amongst youth in the Bronx this summer. The Bronx will be divided into two patrol boroughs, which the mayor says will bring nearly 200 additional officers to the borough in an effort to lower crime. The mayor also encouraged young New Yorkers to get involved in city programs, including summer basketball leagues, Saturday Night Lights,  and Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). #nyc #thebronx #summer
