May 18th is International Museum Day! For today, Jared letterpress printed a photo engravings of our museum, which is a reconstruction of the City Hall & Waterworks building which was built at our location originally in 1854. The text below, set in 30 point Caslon, states, “Happy International Museum Day!” This printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. The Sacramento History Museum first opened in 1985 and we’ve gone through many names over the years. What has stayed the same is what we do. We focus on Sacramento history and the California Gold Rush. Over the last several years though our audience has changed. We are no longer a local museum catering to just in-person visitors. We have another audience, those who watch our videos from wherever they are in the world and we are incredibly thankful for all of you. Where in the world are you watching this video from today? #SacHistoryMuseum #internationalmuseumday #MuseumTok #printing #printing
