Flower Fact of the Day: Dahlias šø Dahlias are one of the few flowers that almost look too perfect to be real. Originally native to Mexico, they were once grown by the Aztecs not just for beauty, but for food and medicine too. And hereās the crazy part. The bigger blooms usually arenāt accidents. Those giant dinner-plate dahlias come from careful pruning and removing extra buds so the plant puts all its energy into one massive flower. They also keep blooming longer than a lot of flowers if you continue deadheading them. Basically the more flowers you cut⦠the more flowers they make. Which feels backwards but gardening is full of weird loopholes. Follow for tomorrows flower āØLantana⨠#flower #garden #dahlia #education #shilohfarm
