May 20th is World Bee Day! This day reminds us of the value of bees, especially as pollinators. Considering Sacramento’s longest running newspaper is The Sacramento Bee, we couldn’t pass this day up. For today, Howard letterpress printed an assortment of photo engravings depicting Scoopy, the mascot for The Sacramento Bee. Scoopy was designed in 1943 by Walt Disney. We recently received these engravings from one of our followers, Andrea, who used to work for The Bee. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press.
