Unlike Waymo, which builds a detailed 3D map to train its AI before operating in a new area, Wayve says its system will allow cars to drive in new cities without mapping the roads in advance. “Think about how you and I learned how to drive. I learned how to go through a few traffic lights, and that taught me how the concept of traffic lights works. In a similar way, that's how our AI learns,” says Alex Kendall, CEO of Wayve. “We train it on millions of hours of experience driving all around the world.
