dennyhamlin’s No. 11 nationaldebtrelief Toyota Camry XSE will honor United States Army Staff Sergeant Michael H. Ollis. SSG Ollis was born on September 16, 1988, in Staten Island, New York. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfathers who also served in the military, SSG Ollis entered the Army in 2006. After multiple deployments overseas, including time in Afghanistan, Germany, and Iraq, Ollis was once again deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 with the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. On August 28, 2013, Ollis and his team were attacked. During the attack, he instructed his fellow soldiers to move to a bunker for safety while he and one other colleague moved toward the point of attack. Both Ollis and his fellow soldier were killed during the ensuing combat.
