SWU – 1952 💙 In 1952, Wesleyan Methodist College welcomed its first faculty member to hold a doctoral degree. Maurice Burns, a WMC alumnus who attended both high school and junior college there, earned a Ph.D. in Bacteriology from Kansas State University before returning to teach.
