To all observing Ramadan, Ramadan Mubarak! 🌙 Here’s how to make Chebakia Bouchnikha at home: For the Dough: 500g all-purpose flour 1t ground cinnamon 1t ground anise 4g baking powder 4g vanilla sugar 1/2t salt 125g very soft butter 200ml warm milk 2T orange blossom water 1T vinegar For Frying & Coating: Vegetable oil, for frying 900g honey, warmed mixed with 2t of orange blossom water Sliced Almonds or Toasted Sesame for Garnish In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add butter and mix until well incorporated. Add orange blossom water, vinegar and half of the milk. Mix to combine. Add the remaining milk little by little until the dough comes together and is soft but not sticky - you may not need all of the milk. Knead for 10 minutes until the dough is very soft and pliable.
