At least 24 people have been killed and 70 others injured in an explosion targeting a train transporting military personnel in Pakistan. The blast occurred in western Balochistan, on Sunday. The Balochistan Liberation Army separatist group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was a suicide bombing. Pakistani officials have not yet confirmed this. The attack was the latest in a series of strikes on trains, security forces and infrastructure in the mineral-rich province of Balochistan that borders Iran and Afghanistan, where Pakistan has launched counterinsurgency operations after some of the deadliest violence in years.
