Lithuanian Grandmaster Paulius Pultinevicius and Poland's Anna Andrzejewska are the new world diving chess champions after two days of intense battle in Poland. The quirky hybrid sport, invented in 2011 by American chess master and entrepreneur Etan Ilfeld, follows the normal rules of chess. However, the catch is that players must submerge themselves underwater for their turn, and make a move on a single breath. Played at the bottom of a pool, specialized boards and chess pieces are used relying on weights and magnetics to prevent any unwanted movements.
