Good Day, Friends,
Today, we celebrate World Bee Day and all the enormous impact they have on all of us. 🐝🌼
Bees are vital to maintaining healthy ecosystems and supporting our food supply by pollinating fruits, vegetables, flowers, and countless other plants. Without them, many of our most beloved foods–from Palisade Peaches to Rocky Ford Melons to Pueblo Chiles–would cease to exist.
Colorado is home to more than 1,000 native bee species, each contributing to ecosystem health and biodiversity. From mountain wildflowers to backyard gardens and agricultural communities, bees help keep Colorado thriving.
Today is also a reminder that pollinators face growing challenges from habitat loss, pesticides, climate change, and disease. Even small actions, such as planting native flowers, reducing pesticide use, supporting local conservation efforts, or creating pollinator-friendly spaces, can make a meaningful difference.
Let’s continue working together to protect these incredible animals...
