One of the local businesses that felt betrayed when the Miss America Organization cut ties and left Atlantic City was Schoppy’s, a gift and award company that provided the crown, scepter, and trophies, as well as many other Miss America-branded products, for the pageant since 1923.
Schoppy’s was three generations in with the Miss America Organization and in 2006, that 83-year relationship ended.
