These are the biggest differences between road running in the UK 🇬🇧vs the U.S.🇺🇸 Most of the miles I run while training are on the road and getting used to it over here took a little bit.
1. No Stop signs🛑 - British drivers usually yield to pedestrians but there’s quite a few times where cars have rolled up and I’ve almost gotten hit. It’s odd to me but the drivers here seem more aware on average.
2. Safer sidewalks (pavement) - The surface for most pavements in the UK is asphalt which is better for your joints than the concrete we have in the U.S. We usually run on the roads to avoid it but you don’t have to do that in the UK.
Also obviously brits drive on the other side of the road but that doesn’t affect running too much. You usually just go against traffic 🚥
