Rocket League is officially entering a completely new era as Epic Games revealed Unreal Engine 6 with Rocket League as one of its first major showcase titles. What makes this so significant is that Rocket League has been running on Unreal Engine 3 since 2015, meaning the game is skipping over both UE4 and UE5 entirely. Early teaser footage showed major visual improvements including better lighting, reflections, environments, and more cinematic presentation while still keeping the fast competitive gameplay intact. Epic is reportedly building UE6 to address some of Unreal Engine 5’s biggest complaints like shader stutter and optimization problems.
