Long static stretching sessions feel productive. They rarely are. Holding a position for 60 seconds does increase tissue length temporarily. But temporary length in one muscle does not translate to better movement across your whole body. Your joints need to move through full range under some degree of control and load. That is what builds lasting mobility. Static stretching skips the control part entirely. Think about what sitting does to you.
Your hips are locked at 90 degrees, your spine is flexed, your ankles are dormant. The fix is not holding one stretch for a long time. The fix is moving every joint through its complete range in a short, structured flow. When you do that, you train the nervous system to allow that range, not just the muscle to tolerate it.
