Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a 7 foot tall NBA basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, primarily known on the LA Lakers and for his hook shot that basketball fans called the “Sky Hook”. He was drafted as the first overall pick in the NBA Drafted in the late 1960’s and played until the early 1990’s. He won many NBA MVP awards, NBA Championships, and played in many NBA playoffs and NBA finals in his career. He held the NBA record for most career points until just a few years ago when LeBron James passed him. Before the NBA, he played college basketball at UCLA, where he learned the hook shot. In today’s modern basketball landscape, this move is not used very much anymore. It is more of a shooting style game than a down low big man dominate the paint type of game it used to be.
