Russia's defense ministry said on Thursday that its forces had conducted a joint nuclear drill with Belarus, launching ballistic and hypersonic missiles alongside anti-submarine aircraft as part of the tests.
The tests are some of Russia's biggest nuclear exercises in years, taking and involving 64,000 people in "the preparation and use of nuclear forces in the event of aggression."
Russian President Vladimir Putin observed the drills together with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
