Fifteen people were charged in Minnesota in connection with fraud schemes that targeted more than $90 million in taxpayer dollars, according to federal officials. Assistant Attorney General for the National Fraud Enforcement Division Colin McDonald the case involves seven state-managed Medicaid programs "that have been systematically pilfered" by fraudsters who treated the programs like "their personal piggy bank." "The fraud here in Minnesota is shocking," McDonald said during a news conference. "This is the beginning of our work in Minnesota," he added. "The Department of Justice will continue expanding our reach across the country to pursue all fraud." Federal Bureau of Investigations Co-Deputy Director Christopher Raia said authorities are searching for a suspect involved in the investigation, saying the suspect is on-the-run after he jumped out of a fourth-floor balcony window.
