We were honored to partner with Satterfield & Pontikes and Kirksey Architecture on the new ExxonMobil Campus for Kids' Meals. This project combined complex fabrication with a powerful mission: supporting an organization doing incredible work to end childhood hunger in Houston. The vision for the project was to create a “lunch bag” structure that would serve as the main entrance to the campus. While the initial concept was strong, the engineering details needed our team’s expertise to be fully realized. This is where we stepped in – we took this creative concept and engineered detailed cladding work from the ground up. Large aluminum panels were fabricated to function as the outside of the lunch bag. Each panel was developed using an algorithmically-generated, perforated lunch-themed pattern; if you look closely, you can see fruits, veggies and other food-themed illustrations throughout the design, adding custom creativity to the structure.
