🚧 During Hurricane Katrina, hospitals across New Orleans were pushed into unimaginable conditions after the levee failures flooded nearly 80% of the city. Power systems failed, temperatures inside hospitals climbed dangerously high, supplies ran low, and evacuations stretched on for days. At Mercy Hospital, later known as Lindy Boggs Medical Center, patients and healthcare workers endured the same crisis facing medical facilities across the city. While national attention focused on Memorial Medical Center, deaths and suffering occurred in hospitals throughout New Orleans during those devastating days. For years, this building stood abandoned, a haunting reminder of how Katrina reshaped New Orleans forever, including the collapse of much of the city’s historic healthcare system. Now, nearly two decades later, redevelopment plans are moving forward. What was once a symbol of devastation may soon become part of the city’s next chapter. 🎥 @CreoleSky Aerial #NewOrleans #HurricaneKatri...
