I spent years of my life dictated by billable hours, wearing grey suits, and pretending to care about things I *absolutely* did not.
But I’d sneak away from the office any chance I got — laptop in tow, hoping no one noticed.
I’d eventually find myself on a mountain somewhere in the Himalayas, diving in Thailand, watching animals in the African bush, or staring up at a waterfall in the Philippines. THIS is where I came alive.
And there was no ignoring the contrast between that kind of happiness, peace, and fulfillment… and the life I was forcing myself into back home.
The discomfort was loud. And necessary.
It showed me what actually mattered — and that I wasn’t on a path anywhere close to it. It reminded me there was so much more to life beyond the confines of a glass office in a law firm in downtown DC… and that going to find it was worth more than anything that job could offer.
Nature has a way of sorting our priorities, doesn’t she? 🌈😉
