Even as an undergraduate student, Ana Vargas (left) knew that her passion for education would open doors to a world of possibilities. The two-time #UNLVGrad hopes to use her M.A. in urban leadership to improve access and equity in higher education. “Every child in Las Vegas should have the same tools to pursue higher ed if they wish to,” Vargas shares. What she’ll miss most: “I will miss the access to brilliant minds and their lectures. I found a lot of joy in learning new things and delving deep into policy issues in our city.” Advice to students: “Don't rush through your coursework, and take the opportunity you have to spend your time THINKING. It is a wonderful time in one's life to spend time thinking critically and learning new concepts. Read all assigned reading. Don't take shortcuts!” Photo credit: Alex Espino
