Grizzly bear cubs Turner (darker cub) and Fitz (lighter cub) have moved to their new home in the Canadian Wild habitat, at The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo 🥳 The brothers were orphaned in the wild last year after their mother died while protecting them in an encounter with a human. The cubs were still quite young and fully dependent on their mother, so it's unlikely they would have survived on their own. They're just over a year old now. Fitz is named after Fitzsimmons Creek near Diamond Valley and his brother, Turner, is named after Turner Valley. Fitz is the bolder of the two, staying out of the den longer and the first to explore. Turner is more shy but quite intelligent.
