One of my all-time favorite movies. I feel like everyone should watch it at some point.
Released in 1995, the groundbreaking horror anthology Tales from the Hood stars Clarence Williams III as the eccentric mortician Mr. Simms, who guides three local drug dealers through his funeral home while sharing four terrifying moral parables. The film features standout performances from David Alan Grier as a monstrous, abusive stepfather and Corbin Bernsen as a virulently racist Southern politician, each facing supernatural justice for their horrific real-world actions. These chilling cautionary tales—spanning police brutality in “Rogue Cop Revelation,” domestic abuse in “Boys Do Get Bruised,” systemic white supremacy in “KKK Comeuppance,” and cyclical gang violence in “Hard-Core Convert”—ultimately culminate in a twisted, hellish reckoning for the listening drug dealers.
