Heads up, Downtown Tempe 👀🚧 Mill Avenue paving begins May 26 as the City of Tempe enters the final phase of the Downtown Tempe Refresh Project. Save this post for paving phase maps and closure dates to help you plan your next trip downtown. 🚧 Phase 1: University Dr. to south of 5th St. (May 26 – June 7) 🚧 Phase 2: Mill Ave. & 5th St. intersection to south of 3rd St. (June 8 – June 21) 🚧 Phase 3: 3rd St. & Mill Ave. intersection to south of Rio Salado Pkwy. (June 22 – July 8) During paving, sections of Mill Avenue and nearby side streets will temporarily close to vehicle and bicycle traffic, but pedestrian access, businesses, and all downtown parking garages will remain open throughout construction. There may also be periodic Streetcar interruptions, so be sure to check rider alerts before heading downtown.
