Their nests are usually simple and loosely built from twigs, feathers, and debris, with pairs often returning to the same nesting spot year after year.⁠ ⁠ Pigeons are also known for their strong pair bonds and shared parenting behaviour. Both the male and female take turns incubating the eggs and feeding the chicks using a nutrient-rich substance called crop milk, produced in their throats.
