LIONS CARVE PATH TO STATE MEET: It was a stellar day of lifetime bests and state qualifying performances for athletes of both the jserra.tfxc Girls and Boys Track and Field teams on Saturday at the CIF-SS Masters Meet at Moorpark High School in Moorpark. The duo of senior Helena Reuter and junior Adi Rusin skied to impressive heights in the pole vault. Reuter produced first attempt clearances at 11 feet, 2 inches, 11 feet, 8 inches, and 12 feet, 2 inches to earn a state meet berth. Reuter then pushed the bar up to a lifetime best 12 feet, 8 inches and successful scaled the height on her first attempt to improve her school record and tie for third highest clearance in the state this season. After first attempt clearances at 10 feet, 8 inches, 11 feet, 2 inches, and 11 feet, 8 inches, Rusin propelled herself over the bar on her first attempt at the automatic state qualifying height (and lifetime best) of 12 feet, 2 inches to finish tied for third.
